Kirkland Signature Choice App Reviews

Latest Apples upgrade has made it worst. It takes about 15 to 20 seconds for me to answer a call. Now sound jumps from H-aids back to phone multiple times, if in truck jumps from truck to H-aids to phone never know where it will land. The hearing impaired needs this technology, I pray Kirkland will take actions to address the problems. Long time Costco customer

Terrible is being nice. This app needs call routing that works. It always switches from the phone to my truck to my hearing aids randomly for no reason at all. You can be talking on the phone and it will randomly switch to another devise. IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY and with out it you can not control your hearing aids.

This app is frustrating. After studying the demo and pairing hearing aids through Bluetooth and a settings, the app will not let me out of demo mode. So I can't use it. Costco should not be marketing with and pricing its hearing aids based on this app. Would like $300 Costco credit.

Terrible app. It constantly cuts out on my iPhone 6se. You can't override it. If you choose speaker or iPhone it keeps switching back. I am going to disable it.

Needs support for apple watch

I purchased the Kirkland 6.0 Hearing aids, the iPhone 5s, and the apple watch. Downloaded the Kirkland Choice app. Now all I need is the Kirkland watch app. If you provide support for the Apple Watch Ill give you the 5 stars you deserve.

Kirkland hearing aids

Great app. Would like an opportunity to use the Apple Watch to change hearing aids between modes.

Needs Work!

I just noticed that ReSound updated their app in the last few days. The KS6 app was written by ReSound so I hope they will update this app soon. 1. The battery indicator is useless. It doesnt do a thing until your batteries are almost dead at which time your hearing aids chime, so a red exclamation point on the battery indicator at this point is not helpful. What is really needed is an indication of the actual remaining battery life. 2. Streaming and taking calls thru the aids when paired with an iPhone is so annoying that I turned this feature off (you can still take calls or stream thru your aids by making a manual decision). Go to Settings--Accessibility. 3. Certain iPhone apps still stream sound to the aids in spite of #2 above which is annoying. 4. As others have noted, the aids and the iPhone seem to forget any adjustments you may have made to volume and bass/treble when you switch programs. This is annoying. 5. On the plus side it is so amazing that I can select programs and fine tune volume, bass, and treble for a specific situation. I love this feature. Hopefully CostCo and ReSound are reading all these reviews and will publish some improvements soon!!!

Not pleased...

App crashes or freezes when in a call on iPhone 6s plus and trying to make adjustments to volume, base and treble. Bought these particular hearing aids because of the app option...not impressed

Bluetooth takes over

I do not want to hear phone calls through my hearing aids. I use bluetooth in my car to listen to Pandora. If I get a phone call it rings in my hearing aids and comes through them. The volume is much softer than when phone calls come through my car audio system. This bad app overrides the audio bluetooth. When driving if I get a phone call I am stuck in the Kirkland app and cant return to audio system. I have to turn off my phone bluetooth and turn it on later. When not driving if I forget to turn off bluetooth calls come through it. When I get a call I can select i phone over bluetooth, but I have to continually repeat the selection because the Kirkland app overrides rhe phone. If I did not need the volume control I would delete this annoying app.

Good app but needs updating

I like being able to control hearing aids via my iPhone. The feature to remember settings based on location are good. I also really like hearing phone calls in both ears. However a major update is needed! I have an Apple Watch... Yet I cant hear calls through the Watch and would like to be able to answer the phone on my Watch and still have sound connect via hearing aids. Need to let Watch be a remote for the phone so I dont have to get phone out (or find it in my desk) to be able to use hearing aids to hear the call. Basically want to be able to answer phone using Watch and still hear call on hearing aids

OK but could be better

Like others have mentioned, the battery level icon is useless. Also, the whole app is rather ugly. How about some freindly colors. The grey motiff is a turn-off. Pairing works well. I agree that treble and bass settings should stay where you set them. All in all, it serves a purpose.

Hard to use.. Wont un-uninstall

This app is confusing, and hard to use.. Not user friendly. Also, if you decide to remove it, it leaves something behind, and periodically freezes up the iPad.

Good app, just needs Apple Watch support

Works well with iPhone 6 eliminating the need for a remote or intermediary device to control your hearing aids and stream audio. It just needs Apple Watch support to complete the package and get 5 stars.

App Doesnt Work

I have tried this app on two different iPhone 6 units and it failed to work on both.

Great app for version 1

Im 49 and found I need hearing aids...have issue that runs in my family (along with a lot of rock music over the years). Bought the Kirkland signature 6.0 HAs since they are rebranded ReSound Linx 9s and less than a third of the price. The app is great..am able to control the volume of either hearing aid, adjust programs, set favorites based off of location and they auto change to the settings of that favorite when you are close to the location. The only major thing lacking is apple watch support, which the ReSound app just added. Hope they update soon. After that, it will be a 5 star app

User

Great overall app sometimes after three taps it fails to open all the way. But its been a real help for phone usage. Would highly recommend it

A BIG pain at times

Bought the whole nine yards from Costco with great hopes. After several weeks of problems with live stream we are told that there is a problem with Apples software which isnt likely to be fixed until the next system upgrade in several months. The quality of the sound from the iPhones music and other Bluetooth features is very poor to say the least. Resound shouldnt release a product until it is well tested. A replaceable battery, with plug, is non-replaceable for the min-mic. You need to buy a whole new unit if the battery quits holding a charge. These aids may go back before the 90 days are up. I dont blame Costco for the problems, just Resound.

Works well for me on iPhone 5s

I have been using this app without problems on an iPhone 5s with Signature 6 hearing aids. Great to have this control. One bug: the battery button is not a button, it is apparently an icon showing battery level, but it doesnt work. Wish it had mid-level tone control slider also. Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. Ive used Oticon and Rexton, and this ReSound unit via Costco is my favorite, particularly the ability to tie in to my iPhone for control, music and audio books.

Audio just ok - no Apple Watch Capability yet

Dont update to the OS9 beta 1 or 2. App wont work with it. It has been reported that the Beta 4 restores app functionality. Beta 4 has only been released to developers but not general public testers yet. Cant believe there is no Apple Watch capability yet - although Resound hearing aids have an Apple Watch capability. This would be terrific if Costco pushed for this.

All kinds of Horrible!

This app was clearly designed by someone (or several someones) who clearly did not have to use it. Design flaws and dysfunctionality in no particular order: - Favorites (collection of settings) take too many clicks to get through. They’re called “favorites” for a reason - they should be the easiest thing to get to instead of a minimum of three clicks when calling up the app. - Once configured, favorites can’t be modified -only deleted/replaced by a new configuration. - Frequency settings are limited to Bass & Treble - I have a Sony Walkman from the ‘80s with greater frequency controls (a five frequency graphic equalizer)! - Bass and Treble settings revert to defaults any time any of the other settings change - like going from the Restaurant program to the Traffic program (fortunately the volume does not change). - The app connects to iPhone streaming seemingly at random even if I’ve already specified that the iPhone should not stream to the aids. When this happens - bass and treble are set back to defaults. - Having the aids connected to the iPhone for streaming creates weird auditory artifacts and so can’t be left on. - Geofencing for favorites is highly erratic sometimes activating far away from the desired site, sometimes activating well after arriving. - The ability to select favorites is not available from the “click home button three-times” interface. Defects (probably) of the hearing aids themselves: - Bluetooth connectivity is unreliable for audio streaming even with the phone in my pants pocket - it’ll often cut out on one aid or the other requiring the phone to be brought close to them to reestablish streaming. - Quality of streamed audio is hideous - I’ve heard gramophones playing wax cylinders with better sound quality! - The “dinging” of the aids when first turned on continues for waayyyy longer than necessary. I’ll admit, this is a pretty petty complaint but when added to all the other problems becomes that much more irritating. I only hope some of these problems are addressed soon - and by someone who actually uses the aids and the app!!! * Used with iPhone 6 & iOS 8.4
